It's a shame though because I think (?) VLC is open source (right?) whereas MPC-HC is not. With their codec pack installed and the black GUI enabled I'm really liking it. I could not find any fix that worked and have switched to MPC-HC for the time being, where this issue is taken care of. Is there something special about VLC that makes it impossible to handle this very well-known and long-running problem? If so, what is it? If not - how come it's not been taken care of? There must be hundreds of thousands of users out there, who would like to run VLC on large screens with high resolution. But on VLC, the font is tiny - particularly if I use one of the darker skins - but also with the default skin and in the Playlist. I do tons of things on this computer and ALL other apps scale. Display resolution I bumped up the 2560 x 1440. I use VLC on a computer relatively far from the sofa, to watch films. The threads are peppered with dev comments about "we're looking at th is" etc.Īll other apps I have, scale just fine. I found literally hundreds of threads about this, going back as far as 10 years.
